teaching

Ilasiea “Ms. Lae Lae” is always teaching and directing around the country for various schools, theatres, organizations, professional development, and her own programming, Lae Lae’s Acting Jam. She also provides a variety of consulting for educators and was featured in My Black Colorado’s “100 Black Educators” edition. Please see below and “About” tab for more information. Also, be sure to check out her internationally published essay, “Why Are There No ‘Great’ Kids of Color in the Performing Arts?” – which examines inequity in the arts for young people of color. She has spoken at many education conferences about the important topics in this essay.

Acting Jam

Lae Lae’s Acting jam aims at empowering young people while developing the craft of acting with a variety of subjects that are sure to keep your young person engaged and creating. Whether they have zero acting experience or are preparing to be the next Disney or Netflix star, there is something for everyone! Individual or group sessions are available (tailored to your scheduling needs). The dance form “step” is also an offering. Accepting students ages 4-18. For more information, please email: actingjam@hotmail.com

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

Does your young person need help preparing for an audition? Want to work on a monologue or scene? Rehearse for a school performance or tape something for their agency website? Or just want to have fun exploring acting in a one-on-one setting? Ilasiea is always taking on new students with a variety of goals! She is proud to say that many of the students she coaches have professional theatre and on-camera credits!

Consulting - Professional Development & Arts Organizations

Ilasiea is always partnering with fellow educators and learning spaces to bring enriching experiences to students. Whether it is coming to your learning environment as a guest speaker, partnering on arts integration, social engagement, devising, creating, consulting and more, Ilasiea is ready to tailor a rich experience to your needs.

Ilasiea also partners with arts organizations in the realm of equity, diversity, inclusion, and access.  She was recently named the Arvada Center for the Arts & Humanities first IDEA Coordinator and plans to continue working with theatres across the country with her new consulting company.
